تُوّج الدكتور فاتح بوطبيق، رئيس البرلمان الإفريقي، بجائزة القيادة العالمية المتميزة لعام 2026، وذلك خلال المؤتمر العالمي للسلام والوحدة والتنمية المستدامة المنعقد في نيويورك، على هامش أشغال الدورة الـ81 للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة.
ويأتي هذا التكريم تقديرًا لجهوده القيادية، ويشكل محطة مهمة بالنسبة للبرلمان الإفريقي في مساره الرامي إلى تعزيز إسهامه في قضايا السلم، والحكامة، والاندماج الإفريقي.
ويندرج المؤتمر العالمي للسلام والوحدة والتنمية المستدامة ضمن برنامج قمة السلام العالمية 2026، المنعقدة على هامش الدورة الـ81 للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة، بمناسبة اليوم الدولي للسلام. وتكرّم مراسم الجائزة شخصيات ومؤسسات تُسهم جهودها في دعم السلام، والدبلوماسية، وحقوق الإنسان، والتنمية المستدامة، والتعاون الدولي.

وخلال مراسم تقديم الجائزة، أشاد مؤسس ومنظم القمة، الدكتور هوغ سانون، بالمسار المهني للدكتور فاتح بوطبيق كمحامٍ وبرلماني ودبلوماسي، كما نوّه بالتوجه الذي اعتمده منذ توليه رئاسة البرلمان الإفريقي، لاسيما في ما يتعلق بتعزيز حضور المؤسسة البرلمانية القارية، ودفع مسار الإصلاح المؤسسي، وترسيخ دورها في دعم السلم والأمن والتكامل الإفريقي.
كما أشار منظمو الفعالية إلى الجهود المبذولة تحت قيادة الدكتور فاتح بوطبيق لترجمة أولويات إفريقيا إلى تعاون أوثق بين البرلمانيين، وتعزيز التواصل مع المواطنين والشركاء.
وفي كلمة له عقب تسلّم الجائزة، أكد رئيس البرلمان الإفريقي أن هذا التكريم يعكس أهمية تعزيز الصوت البرلماني في مواجهة التحديات المشتركة التي تواجه القارة الإفريقية.

وجرى التكريم بحضور عدد من الدبلوماسيين وصناع السياسات والقادة في المجال الإنساني والمدافعين عن السلام من مختلف أنحاء العالم، بما يوفر منصة لتعريف المجتمع الدولي بصورة أوسع بدور البرلمان الإفريقي ومهامه وتطلعاته.
وتُعد قمة السلام العالمية 2026 تجمعًا دوليًا رفيع المستوى يركز على قضايا السلام والقيادة والتنمية المستدامة، ويجمع دبلوماسيين وسفراء وصناع سياسات وقادة عالميين ومسؤولي قطاع الأعمال وقيادات إنسانية ومدافعين عن السلام.
Pan-African Parliament President Dr. Fateh Boutbig Honoured with Distinguished Leadership Award in New York

The President of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), Dr. Fateh Boutbig, has received the 2026 Distinguished Leadership Award during the Global Conference on Peace, Unity and Sustainable Development in New York, held on the margins of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The recognition honours his leadership and marks an important moment for the Pan-African Parliament as it works to strengthen its contribution to Africa’s peace, governance and integration agenda.
The Global Conference on Peace, Unity and Sustainable Development forms part of the Global Peace Summit 2026 programme, held on the margins of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly to mark the International Day of Peace. The awards ceremony honours leaders and organisations whose work advances peace, diplomacy, human rights, sustainable development and international cooperation.
Presenting the award, Summit Founder and Convener Dr. Hugues Sanon recognised President Boutbig’s career as a lawyer, parliamentarian and diplomat. He also commended the direction Dr. Boutbig has set since taking office, particularly his efforts to raise the visibility of the Pan-African Parliament, advance institutional reform and reinforce its role in promoting peace, security and African integration.
The event organisers also highlighted efforts under President Boutbig’s leadership to translate Africa’s priorities into closer cooperation among parliamentarians and stronger engagement with citizens and partners.
In his acceptance speech, the President of the Pan-African Parliament said that the recognition reflects the importance of a stronger parliamentary voice in addressing the continent’s shared challenges.
The recognition took place in the presence of diplomats, policymakers, humanitarian leaders and peace advocates from around the world, providing a platform to bring the Pan-African Parliament’s mandate and aspirations to a wider international audience.
The Global Peace Summit 2026 is a high-level international gathering focused on peace, leadership and sustainable development, bringing together diplomats, ambassadors, policymakers, global leaders, business executives, humanitarian leaders and peace advocates.
